Collection of Hollywoods most iconic television and movie cars now open at the Petersen Automotive Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located just down the street from Hollywoods most iconic production studios, the Petersen Automotive Museum<\/a> brand-new collection of some of the most famous vehicles ever to appear in film and television is now open to the public. Located in the Omaze Hollywood Gallery on the Otis Booth History Floor, the exhibit will include a diverse selection of cars, motorcycles and custom creations that have starred in popular movies and television series throughout the decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new exhibit showcases the most unique and popular vehicles, motorcycles and custom creations ever made for movies and television, such as \u201cGhostbusters: Afterlife,\u201d \u201cBack to the Future,\u201d \u201cMen in Black,\u201d and \u201cBatman\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A continuation of the popular \u201cHollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles of Science Fiction and Fantasy\u201d exhibit, which was the largest museum exhibition of sci-fi movie vehicles in the world, the new display branches out beyond the specific genre to incorporate a broader range of vehicles, movies and television series. Included in the space will be vehicles from the blockbuster \u201cBlack Panther,\u201d the trilogies \u201cMen in Black\u201d and \u201cBack to the Future,\u201d and the \u201cGhostbusters\u201d and \u201cBatman\u201d series of movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stars of the new exhibit include the wildly-popular 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor dubbed \u201cEcto-1,\u201d originally made famous as the rapid response vehicle for the cast of \u201cGhostbusters.\u201d The converted ambulance made multiple appearances in the sequels to the original 1984 hit, including the more recent reboot \u201cGhostbusters: Afterlife.\u201d While \u201cEcto-1\u201d received updates to its appearance over the years, it will display in its original 1984 condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another Hollywood vehicle making its return is the 1981 DeLorean \u201cTime Machine\u201d from the \u201cBack to the Future\u201d trilogy of movies. The producers originally chose the DMC-12 as the foundation for the famous time-traveling DeLorean due to its stainless-steel construction and gullwing doors. Multiple versions of the DeLorean \u201cTime Machine\u201d were made throughout the years for the two sequels, but this is the only example appearing in all three films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSome vehicles used in television and movies have become just as popular as the stars themselves,\u201d said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. \u201cWe are excited to display what are genuinely some of the most iconic vehicles from Hollywood\u2019s long and storied history of film and television series production. The unique collection is sure to appeal to fans of movies and television along with any automotive enthusiasts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other notable unique additions to the new exhibit include the Batmobile from \u201cBatman\u201d and \u201cBatman Returns,\u201d the intricate Moto-Terminator motorcycle that appeared in \u201cTerminator Salvation\u201d and the classic 1976 Ford Gran Torino from the \u201cStarsky and Hutch\u201d television series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
