Mentessa announces smart mentor at work
- The AI-based peer learning platform accompanies employees on their journey from onboarding to retirement with the right expert at the right time.
- Mentessa.ai relies on generative AI to adopt the “story” of each employee as a context for individual tips for networking and further developing their skills.
- Unlike ChatGPT, the skill-based platform also leverages novel knowledge that other models don’t have access to – the informal knowledge in people’s minds.
- For the first time, employees get a personal advisor who supports them individually and continuously in their growth and potential development – regardless of their origin, gender or age.
Mentessa, the Munich start-up that promotes an inclusive corporate culture and equal opportunities in companies, has launched the introduction of a smart mentor at work: Mentessa.ai.
Since 2019, the young company has been developing a collaborative platform that brings people in companies together so that they can learn from and with each other. The acceptance of hybrid work models with the pandemic increased the pressure on companies to ensure a networked work culture – despite working from home. With automated “rituals”, Mentessa ensures more exchange and connections in virtual teams, even without AI.
With Mentessa.ai, the HR Tech company from Germany creates a holistic approach. From onboarding to retirement, the assistant accompanies employees on their long-term employee journey. The solution relies on generative AI to use the “story” of each employee as a context for individual tips for networking and further developing their skills.
The company acts not only as an agent for isolated matching, but also as a “work mentor” who supports a culture change towards more collaboration and knowledge sharing on the job. Mentessa takes a unique approach to creating a silo-free culture, breaking down barriers to diversity and collaboration in the workplace, and leveraging connected learning.
Generative AI models such as ChatGPT have led to a number of innovations since their introduction a few weeks ago – especially in the networking of formal knowledge available in the form of written documents. Unlike ChatGPT, Mentessa also uses novel knowledge that other models don’t have access to – the informal knowledge in people’s minds.
The rapidly changing VUCA world has significantly increased the importance of a culture of exchange and lifelong learning. Current enterprise technologies do not focus enough on the informal knowledge and experience of each employee and do not provide a safe and flexible space for rapid learning and continued development. Mentessa closes a gap here and at the same time creates fairer conditions for career development and collaboration in the modern office.
Andrey Andreev, CTO of Mentessa, says: “Unlike other solutions, our core competence lies in accompanying the employee journey holistically over a longer period of time. Generative AI is a tool for that – kind of like a chat from onboarding to retirement.”
Tina Ruseva, CEO and Founder of Mentessa, says: “In the continuously changing VUCA world, learning is becoming a key competence of organizations. Empowering employees, regardless of background, role or skill set, is not only fair, it is also a necessity for innovation and success in the future of work.”
